Malika BOUCHENAK is professor and research director of Nutrition Physiology at the Faculty of Nature and Life Sciences of the University Oran 1. She obtained her PhD at the University of Oran, then at the University of Burgundy (Dijon, France).
She is a leader of « Nutritional prevention of cardiometabolic risk » scientific team at the Clinical and Metabolic Nutrition Laboratory (LNCM). She was the director of the LNCM since its creation in 2000 to 2019. She is the Chief Editor of « Nutrition & Santé » algerian journal since 2012, editor member and referee for several scientific international journals. She is the President of the Algerian Society of Nutrition (SAN), and the Funding Member of Algerian Academy of Sciences and Technologies (AAST).
She was responsible of the License ‘Diet, Nutrition and diseases’ from 2006 to 2020, and of the Master ‘Nutrition and Food technology’ from 2008 to 2015. She has supervised over 25 PhD theses and over 60 Magister and Master. She coordinates more than 20 international and national research projects on nutrition and risk factors.
Malika BOUCHENAK was nominated among the most distinguished Arab Women in Science and Technology on 2019, and she was awarded the National Prize for Biology for her several experimental and clinical studies on protein malnutrition and lipids transport, on 1992, by the Foundation for Medicine Research. More than 40 lectures at national and international conferences, workshops, round table…. She published over 90 articles in refeered journals, and 3 book chapters, with an h-index of 24.
