Countries possess many tools and methods to enable them to achieve their objectives in terms of sustainable development and economic growth. However, for many of them, radiation technology, recognized as one of the most cost-effective and environmentally-friendly options, is increasingly being advocated as a solution. The applications of radiation technology are numerous and cover many fields (health, environment, agri-food, industry, art, materials science, electronuclear). Some examples include radiation therapy for cancer treatment, medical imaging, measuring pollution levels, ionization treatment of food and industrial wastewater, sterilization of packaging materials, diagnosis of works of art, preservation of artistic and cultural heritage, analysis, evaluation and modification of the properties of various materials.
