In the first part, the factors that enabled the emergence of the first scientific activities in the Orient, as well as the circulation to the Maghreb and Andalusia of the first scientific books, translated from Greek or written in Arabic, are recalled.In the second part , we covered the scientific and philosophical activities that flourished in this region.
In a third section, two phenomena characteristic of the 12th and 13th centuries are described: the gradual transfer of scientific activities from Al-Andalus to the Maghreb and the circulation of scientific writings from the Muslim world as a whole to medieval Europe.
