The academy was created by Presidential Decree No. 15-85 of 19 Joumada El Oula 1436 corresponding to March 10, 2015.In compliance with the provisions of article 218 of the Constitution, law no. 22-02 of 24 Ramadhan 1443 corresponding to 25 April 2022 set out the organization, composition, operation and missions of the Algerian Academy of Science and Technology.
The academy has its own rules of procedure (Presidential Decree N°23-72 of February 14, 2023), which cover the academician’s charter of ethics and professional conduct.
