Adel BELOUCHRANI

Adel Belouchrani received the State Engineering degree from Ecole Nationale Polytechnique, Algiers, Algeria in 1991, an MSc degree in signal processing from Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France in 1992, and his PhD in signal and image processing from Télécom Paris, France in 1995.

He was a postdoctoral fellow at University of California at Berkeley, CA, USA, from 1995 to 1996 and a research associate at Villanova University, Villanova, PA, USA, from 1996 to 1997.

In 1997, he has been with Alcatel, Belgium. In 1998, he joined the Ecole Nationale Polytechnique where he is a full professor since 2006. His main scientific contributions are in statistical signal processing, (blind) array signal processing, time-frequency analysis, and time-frequency array signal processing with applications in biomedical and communications. He has served as Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing for two terms from 2013 to 2017 and as Editorial board member of the Digital signal processing Journal (Ed. Elsevier) from 2011 to 2019. He is currently Senior Area Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing for a second term.

He is an elected member of the IEEE Sensor Array and Multichannel Technical Committee for 2019-2021 term. He is a founding member of the Algerian Academy of Science and Technology and an IEEE Fellow. Adel Belouchrani is between the world’s top 2%scientists according to a ranking study conducted by a team from the Stanford University. He has published over 200 technical publications including 64 journal papers, 4 book chapters and 4 patents cited over 8300 times, with an h index over 36. He has supervised over 30 PhD theses.
